Learn to think and see like a professional makeup artist. This program will help you train your eye to see color and shape, while setting you up for working safely and effectively.

The Professional Beauty Makeup Program (18 hours, online) focuses on theory and practice, and consists of interactive lectures, demonstration and discussion, accompanied by resources for study and exercises for practice. 

The Program is conducted online over four days (Saturday/Sunday, two weeks in a row), from 11:00 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. each day. In addition to covering all aspects of beauty makeup application to the face, topics will include all of the following topics and more:

Qualities of and opportunities for a makeup professional

Lighting and ergonomics

Color theory and color correction

Sanitation and hygiene

Skin assessment, ingredients and prep

Texture in makeup

Understanding eye shape

·         Use of essential tools and products

·         Bone structure and use of shading and counter-shading

·         False lash application

Students will be applying makeup throughout the three days, working on each other and on models provided by the school. Students will work at makeup stations fully stocked with all the tools and products necessary for a successful application.  

Each student will receive a professional makeup brush set that they may keep and use and their future work.

Throughout the program, students will be able to photograph each of their completed makeups and share with friends and family, and on social media.

Upon successful completion of each of the Professional Beauty Makeup Part 2, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.  Outstanding students who have completed both Part 1 and Part 2 will will have their name and web/social links listed on the Paint School of Makeup Honor Roll.

On the final afternoon of the program, each student will work with a model provided by the school, and the finished look will be photographed for use in the student’s portfolio.

Upon successful completion of each of the Professional Beauty Makeup Part 2, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.   One outstanding student who has completed both Part 1 and Part 2 will receive a Certificate of Merit and will have their name and web/social links listed on the Paint School of Makeup Honor Roll.

Skin is the canvas of a makeup professional, and knowing how to assess and prep a subject’s skin is critical to the success of any application. This is a workshop for those with no aesthetics training.
